The aim is to explore the use of furniture sawdust waste as an alternative growing medium to increase growth and nutritional content, especially beta carotene, in mustard greens. This research uses different treatment methods for planting media and nutrient concentrations. The research results showed that treatment with nutrient concentration E (ecoenzyme) could increase the beta carotene content in mustard green microgreens. Data analysis showed that there was a real interaction between E0 and E1 treatments, with beta carotene levels increasing 2-fold from 3.65 mg to 21.05 mg. Research Contribution This research is expected to contribute to the development of sustainable agricultural technology and provide information for business actors about the use of waste as an economical and environmentally friendly planting medium. This research succeeded in showing that furniture sawdust waste can be used as an effective planting medium to increase the beta carotene content in mustard greens. Treatment with nutrient concentration E (ecoenzyme) showed significant results with an increase in beta carotene levels up to 2 times. This research contributes to the development of sustainable agricultural technology and the use of waste in an economical and environmentally friendly manner.
Fahmi Romadani Winarto Dwi Haryanta Jajuk Herawati Copyright (c) 2025 Fahmi Romadani Winarto, Dwi Haryanta, Jajuk Herawati https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 3 1 1 9 Respon Tanaman Selada (Lactuca sativa L) terhadap Aplikasi Jenis Pupuk Kandang dan Persentase Naungan https://agrocentrum.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/agrocentrum/article/view/32
In order to increase the productivity of lettuce plants on limited land, a verticulture techniques can be use. Research will start from January-February 2024 at the Urban Farming Field Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, National Development University "Veteran" East Java. The experimental design used was arranged in a Split Plot Design (RPT) with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) environment. The first factor of the main plot is the percentage of shade (N) which consists of 3 treatment levels, namely: N0: No shade (control); N1 : 50% Shade; and N2: 75% Shade. The second factor as a sub plot (sub plot) is the type of manure (P) consisting of 4 treatment levels, namely: P1: Soil + Vermicompost (1:1); P2: Soil + Cow Manure (1:1); P3: Soil + Goat Manure (1:1); and P4: Soil + Chicken Manure (1:1). The combination of vermicompost with 50% shade was able to provide the highest response to the number of leaves, wet weight and canopy weight of lettuce.
Eriesta Wahyuningtyas Ramdan Hidayat Felisitas Deru Dewanti Copyright (c) 2025 Eriesta Wahyuningtyas, Ramdan Hidayat, Felisitas Deru Dewanti https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 3 1 10 19 Analisis Residu Pestisida pada Buah Tomat (Solanum lycopersicum) di Desa Sajen, Kecamatan Pacet, Kabupaten Mojokerto https://agrocentrum.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/agrocentrum/article/view/74
This study aims to analyze the pesticide residue levels in tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum) marketed at Pasar Keputran, Surabaya, and to evaluate whether the residue content exceeds the maximum permissible limit set by applicable regulations. This study employs a quantitative method with laboratory experiments using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to analyze pesticide residues. The tomato samples tested were obtained from farmers in Desa Sajen, Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency, and sold at Pasar Keputran, Surabaya. The study grouped the samples based on the frequency of pesticide spraying: no spraying, one-time spraying, and two-time spraying. The results showed that pesticide residues were present in the tomatoes, with levels increasing as the frequency of spraying increased. Samples with two-time spraying contained residues exceeding the maximum permissible limits set by food safety regulations. Statistical analysis revealed significant differences between the residue levels in the samples and the expected values, indicating potential health risks for consumers. This study also highlights the importance of strict supervision of pesticide use, especially concerning dosage and frequency of spraying, to prevent negative impacts on public health. The implementation of safer and more sustainable agricultural practices is necessary to reduce the risk of excessive pesticide exposure and to raise farmers awareness of proper pesticide use procedures in accordance with standards.
Lucky Dwi Firmansyah Dwi Haryanta Achmadi Susilo Copyright (c) 2025 Lucky Dwi Firmansyah, Dwi Haryanta, Achmadi Susilo https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 3 1 20 28 Pemetaan Tingkat Bahaya Erosi Menggunakan Metode USLE di Desa Jatiarjo, Kecamatan Prigen, Kabupaten Pasuruan https://agrocentrum.upnjatim.ac.id/index.php/agrocentrum/article/view/79
The Erosion Hazard Level is one of the important indicators of land productivity capability in agriculture. Wonosalam, a sub-district in Jombang Regency, East Java, is characterized by a topography with elevations ranging from 500–600 meters above sea level and predominantly steep to very steep slopes. To estimate erosion rates in this area, the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) method is applied. Based on the erosion rates calculated for various slope units, suitable land management strategies are proposed to reduce soil loss. These strategies are designed to ensure erosion rates do not exceed the tolerable limit. At SPL K3, the erosion rate is already within the allowable limit; however, the planting of Crotalaria is recommended to maintain erosion at 16.1 tons/ha/year. For SPL T1, T2, and T3, the addition of permanent, dense, strip grass barriers and contour planting is advised. At SPL S1, applying 3 tons/ha/year of mulch and implementing contour planting can reduce the erosion rate to 9.6 tons/ha/year. In contrast, erosion rates at SPL Kebun 3, Tegalan 1–3, and Sawah 1 exceed the permissible limit, prompting the need for specific land management interventions. Conservation priorities are established using a scale-based approach, identifying moorlands as the top priority for rehabilitation. Conservation measures include both vegetative and mechanical approaches, such as constructing bench terraces and planting economically valuable crops suited to local conditions—namely coffee and durian—to support sustainable land use and community livelihoods in Wonosalam.
Juve Bagoes Hendrawan Purwadi Purwadi Moch.
